Tarek F.M. Saad
Senior Counsel, Crowell & Moring
Tarek Saad provides clients value in assessing, managing and resolving complex, high-value commercial disputes, primarily involving international participants and issues. Tarek also serves as an appointed arbitrator.
Tarek has substantial experience using a wide variety of conflict resolution methods across a broad range of industries, acting for clients in early-stage negotiations and resolutions, proceedings involving emergency injunctive relief, mediations, arbitrations (ICC and otherwise), motions hearings, agency and administrative proceedings, trials with arbitral tribunals and in US state and federal courts before judges and juries, and on appeals, including oral arguments.
In addition to his primary focus on resolving his clients’ international disputes, Tarek frequently counsels clients in a variety of commercial contexts, including business torts and transactions, contract disputes, intellectual property, trade secrets, non-solicits/non-competes, employment law, consumer protection statutes, and securities laws.

Ian A. Laird
Partner, Crowell & Moring
Ian A. Laird is co-chair of the firm’s International Dispute Resolution Group and an adjunct professor at Columbia University School of Law and Georgetown University Law Center. He represents a range of clients in international arbitration proceedings involving disputes between corporations and foreign sovereign governments. For over 20 years, Ian has counseled parties in investment arbitrations under the provisions of NAFTA, CAFTA-DR, the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT), and other international investment agreements, typically applying the arbitration rules of ICSID or UNCITRAL. In 2018, Ian was named to the National Law Journal’s “ADR Champions” list.
With extensive experience representing Fortune 500 clients, Ian advises corporations on geopolitical concerns when their investments face challenges overseas. He has worked extensively with clients involving issues in the energy and natural resources sector – such as power generation, oil and gas, and mining. As a former chief of staff to a Canadian cabinet minister and a senior political aide to the Ontario Minister of Energy, Ian has run political campaigns and understands the intimate workings of government and politics, as well as their impact on industry.

Laurence Winston
Partner, Crowell & Moring
Laurence Winston is a partner and co-head of Crowell & Moring’s International Dispute Resolution Group in the firm’s London office. His practice focuses on acting for blue chip clients, banks, asset-based lenders and other financial institutions in a broad range of cross border and domestic commercial litigation and arbitration matters with a particular focus on world-wide and U.K. fraud investigations, and asset recovery actions.
He has in-depth experience of obtaining freezing injunctions, search and seizure orders, and additional forms of relief on behalf of his clients.
In addition, Laurence focuses on complex banking and investment disputes and claims on guarantees and indemnities and breach of warranty claims. He also focuses on data/cyber security and acted in one of the highest profile cases in the world to date.
He lectures and presents for Finance U.K., credit conferences, and other business conferences on fraud and asset recovery. He also appeared on CNBC Europe as an authority on fraud.
Prior to joining the firm, Laurence was a partner and head of U.K. litigation in the London office of an international firm.

Randa Adra
Counsel, Crowell & Moring
Randa Adra is a counsel in the New York office of Crowell & Moring, where she practices in the firm’s International Dispute Resolution and Litigation groups. Randa provides counsel on complex disputes for domestic and multi-national companies with a particular focus on the Middle East and North Africa region.
In her practice, Randa represents clients in both international and domestic disputes, including international commercial and investment arbitration matters, and a broad spectrum of litigation matters that include class actions and multidistrict proceedings.
Randa has extensive experience representing clients in commercial disputes between corporations as well as against foreign sovereign governments, and in related enforcement proceedings.
