The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) was established in Qatar over two decades ago with a vision of promoting the interests of Qatar’s business community and fostering an environment conducive to foreign investments.
Since its inception, ICC Qatar represents the commercial, industrial and business enterprises in Qatar at a global level. ICC Qatar strives to maintain a healthy and competitive economic environment by giving Qatar’s private sector the opportunity to be part of the global business community.
We continue playing our role in line with ICC’s commitments and values and subsequent to its establishment in 1919; ICC has thrived to promote peace and prosperity for global economic growth. This has translated into ICC’s close ties with the World Trade Organization (WTO) where the aim has been to create economic opportunities for many around the world. As well as the World Trade Agenda (WTA) which helps governments set key priority areas for inclusive trade. Furthermore, the ICC fully supports and encourages the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which has provided an opportunity to build trust in our societies by supporting causes such as global warming, gender equality, and world hunger. Consequently, ICC’s recent acknowledgement at the United Nations as the voice of private business through the granting of Observer Status has given us a unique platform to participate at the General Assembly and in recognizing the role that business can play in contributing to a better and peaceful world.
We hereby wish to continue dedicating ourselves to promoting ICC’s core values and to serve our members, local business and community.
H.E. Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani
